Grade The essay is graded as per the TOEFL® grading system. Depending on the quality of the essay, one of the 6 grades are awarded - O, A, B, C, D, and E. In this scale, O corresponds to a score of 5 and E corresponds to a score of 0. |
Essay topic A TOEFL®-specific topic is presented with each assignment. Instructions regarding the minimum number of words and the appropriate structure of the essay are given. |

Tips on word and time limit The instructor also explains how to complete the essay in 30 mins and write a minimum of 300 words, as specified by the TOEFL® exam. |
Essay rating
The content, organization, structure, stylistics, and mechanics of the essay are analyzed and rated as Outstanding, Good, Satisfactory, Needs more effort, or Poor. |
